Jim Henry
JIM HENRY is an author and a speaker who invests his life in encouraging churches, pastors, leaders, and believers at conferences and interims. He serves as a consultant to churches regarding personnel and procedures. Henry is an adjunct professor at seminaries and pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church of Orlando—where he served for 29 years. He has pastored churches in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee, and served for two terms as president of the Southern Baptist denomination. Henry has also served as a trustee for the International Mission Board, for the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and for Criswell College. He has written nine books, including: Heartwarmers; The Pastor’s Wedding Manual; Keeping Life in Perspective; In Remembrance of Me; The Two Shall Become One; A Treasury of Funeral and Memorial Messages; Dangerous Intersections; his autobiography, Son of a Gunn; and his latest, What Now?: Hope and Help for Caregivers, Family, and Friends of Alzheimer’s and Dementia Patients. Jim and his first wife, Jeanette, were married for 60 years and had three children before her passing in 2019. Later, Jim married Kathy Ann Siegel—a longtime family friend.
