Please Note: Applicant must be actively serving in a current ministry role as a lead/senior pastor or associate pastor.* Resource assistance will cover Pastor Renewal Retreat meals, as well as 2 night’s lodging, for pastor and spouse. (Note: Lodging assistance is limited to those living outside of Buncombe and Henderson counties.)

A materials fee of $30 per person ($60 per couple) is required.

*While we welcome Senior and Associate Pastors to our Pastor Renewal Retreats, we realize these events can be of great benefit to others serving in various areas of pastoral ministry. For this reason, we want to provide the opportunity for these individuals to attend these events, providing that space is available .

Because funding has been designated specifically for Senior and Associate Pastors, others wishing to attend will be responsible for paying their own way (The Cove Experience Off-Property guest rate of $142). No application form will be required for these individuals, since they will not be receiving resource assistance.

Navigating the daily pressures and challenges of ministry is difficult, but as pastors we are called to do more than simply persevere. Come examine Acts 20 and see how Paul’s rallying cry in this key passage can be applied to your own ministry. Be reenergized to joyfully and courageously “live a life worthy of the calling you have received” (Ephesians 4:1, NIV).

Bob Russell

Bob Russell is a Bible teacher; a well-known author; and the former pastor of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Through Bob Russell Ministries, he provides guidance for church leadership, mentors other ministries, and authors Bible study videos for use in small groups. He also writes a thought-provoking weekly blog which can be found at BobRussell.org, Facebook (Bob Russell), or Twitter (@bobrussellky). His books include Acts of God; The Growing Church; After 50 Years of Ministry: 7 Things I Would Do the Same and 7 Things I Would Do Differently; and many others—including accompanying Bible study materials. Bob and Judy, his wife of 59 years, have two married sons, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Michael O'Brien

With more than 29 years in full-time ministry, Michael O’Brien enjoys frequent opportunities to lead worship and perform concerts in churches and conferences throughout the United States. The former lead singer for the group NewSong, He garnered several number one singles during his solo career in the early ‘90s, as well as others (“When God Made You,” “Rescue,” and “Psalm 40”) during his seven-year tenure with NewSong. Michael has recorded five solo projects, the latest being “Crown Him,” featuring duets with his wife and four children.
